Sheep Farming

The course consists of the following units:

1 – A history of sheep farming and the British sheep industry
2 – The biology of the sheep
3 – Reproductive management
4 – Pregnancy and lambing
5 – Feeding and nutrition
6 – Sheep systems and grassland utilization
7 – Meat production
8 – Milk and wool production
9 – Sheep health and disease
10 – Planning, management and finances (including organic production)

Entry Requirements: You do not need previous farming knowledge or experience to start this course, but PET expect Level 2 English

Assignments: Each lesson requires an assignment which is marked with feedback. Assessment is entirely done by these assignments

Exams: None

Tutor Support: Tutorial support is offered by post, and also by telephone:  Monday to Friday, 9-5
