Poultry Management

The course consists of the following 8 lessons:

  1. Introduction, Terminology and Breeds
  2. Poultry Nutrition
  3. Diseases
  4. Layers
  5. Broilers
  6. Incubation-The natural method (using broody hens)
  7. Brooding
  8. Record Keeping, economics and Marketing

Entry Requirements: Level 2 English

Assignments: 8, 1 at the end of each assignment

Exams: There is an optional written exam at the end of the assignments. The exam is either printed and sent by the provider via mail or emailed to the invigilator who prints out, scans and emails back the learner’s answer paper. Learners should also nominate a supervisor to oversee the exam.

Prison Support Requirements: Prisons should facilitate communication between learners and tutors, where possible. They should also support learners with the submission of assignments. Prisons should facilitate examinations, if chosen by the learner.
