Gym Instructing – Passport to Level 2 Certificate

There are 5 mandatory units – three theoretical units (1-3) and two practical (4-5).

  1. Anatomy and physiology for exercise and fitness instructors
  2. Providing a positive customer experience in the exercise environment
  3. Lifestyle management and health awareness
  4. Gym-based programme planning and preparation
  5. Gym-based programme delivery and professional instruction

Entry Requirements: Level 2 English and Maths, but no prior knowledge or experience required.

Assignments: There are 5 assignments to submit plus 1 exam

Exams: Yes, 1 x Anatomy and Physiology 30 Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) theory exam (21/30 to pass)

Prison Support Requirements: Support submitting assignments; organising and invigilating an exam in prison. If possible, support completion of the practical part in a local HFE centre. The practical part must be completed within two years from completing the theoretical part.
