Look: there he lies, pining for his true home.
Space between bars seduces our dreamers.
Why? It's there they think they can be alone:
Pushing prison issue; seeking seemers.
It's here - right here - you find what freedom's for.
Enjoying every day of life given.
Not mulling over things that went before
Or sad 'cos you ended up in prison.
Let him feel that old 'thorny mistletoe,'
His life begins anew outside your gate.
With more than legal deficits to tow,
Tell him "stand." Teach him "Master our fate."
If you really want to help him inside
Make him believe he can face that tide.
